小官僚大投射:罗大经仕履考析——宋元变革论实证研究举隅之三

摘要:作为选人的罗大经,在进士及第之后,却迟迟八年未能注阙获得差遣。后来通过走了父辈友人的后门,在他们的援助之下,方在遥远的广西开始了为官生涯。然而,由此过去了十八年,罗大经依然挣扎于“选海”,未能脱离。不仅如此,他后来还为上司之间的政争所波及,彻底出局,无奈中断了本来即坎坷的仕途。罗大经如此的仕履在南宋并非个例,他的经历折射出了南宋毫无势力背景的普通下层选人官僚的普遍命运。透过罗大经的个案可以窥见,选人不仅向京官升迁行路艰难,从金榜题名开始,七阶选人的长途跋涉也很艰难。碰壁迂回的本能,让不少士人舍弃了充满诱惑的仕途,形成流向的多元化。在政治、经济、社会、文化等促因的综合作用之下,走向地方的士人在无形之中引领了社会转型。

 

 

A Petty Bureaucrat, the Great Epitome: a Study of Luo Dajing’s Official Career—the Empirical Studies of the “Song-Yuan Transition” (Part Ш)

Abstract: As an officer candidate, Luo Dajing did not get any position for a long time over eight years after he passed the highest imperial examination. Afterwards, he began his official career in the distant Guangxi with the help of his father’s friends. Yet eighteen years later, he still floundered in the deep officialdom. Moreover, he was completely driven out as being involved in the political conflict between his superiors, and his bumpy official career then came to an end. Such official career of Luo Dajing was not an exceptional case in the Southern Song Dynasty, and his experience just reflected the common fate of the common low-level officials without any powerful background at that time. This case suggests that the promotion to capital officials was very difficult for the official candidates, and the procedure of being promoted through the seven ranks was also quite challenging. When suffering setbacks, many scholars instinctively gave up the tempting official careers, and their flow became diverse. Under the comprehensive function of politics, economics, society and culture, the scholars moving to local regions virtually led to the social transition.
